Mayrelis “Maye” Cordero is a Graphic Designer and Creative Photographer recently established in Boulder, CO from her native San Juan, Puerto Rico. Back in 2008, Maye got a combined Bachelor Degree in Communications and Photography. And most recently in 2011 she finished with honors a Media Design Master of Fine Arts at Full Sail University, FL.

Her passion for the arts started in middle school when she attended a specialized Visual Arts School in San Juan, PR. In it she was trained in the elements and principles of art and experimented with painting, drawing, graphic arts and sculpture. Later during college years, and while performing as a professional dancer for local and international artists,  she found in photography a new fulfilling way of expression. Ever

since Maye has been capturing through her lens the wonders of life.

Before moving to Colorado, Maye had a successful photography studio in the San Juan Area, working with families, media personalities and corporate. Nowadays it is her desire to have a local studio in the Boulder Area,  where she can continue serving families, mothers to be, children and anything in between! In the meantime, in February 2015 Maye has launched her photography website, Mayephotography.com.  in which people can see current and past works, purchase lovely fine-photography, and schedule a personalized photoshoot with her.

During the month of March Maye will be exhibiting at Spanish Institute the collection Garitas. In it she presents us a selection of images from her native San Juan, PR, specifically the military stronghold from the fourteenth century.   Garitas (little shelters) were the outposts of protection for the island against attacks by sea and by land. Today, Garitas are a landmark of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.

Stay tuned for more information about her upcoming presentations, as Maye will be displaying her photography in different local coffee shops. Visit www.MayePhotography.com for more details.
